Due to the fast fashion industry the prices of our clothes are forced lower and lower. This way we get more choice, more clothes, and lower prices. This is a good thing...right?
From our perspective it is. That is, until you look a little deeper.
Consider this; of the ten richest people on the planet, two of these are CEOs of fast fashion businesses. With prices like $5 for a T shirt, how is it possible to make enough profit to accrue such large amounts of wealth?
If we, the consumers, are winning with increasingly cheaper goods, and fast fashion companies are raking in higher and higher profits, who is losing? Who is bearing the cost?
What is the true cost of fashion?
Unfortunately, it's much larger than many of us can imagine and spans from the mass pollution of important sources of drinking water to the deaths of thousands of garment workers due to unsafe labour conditions. But instead of telling you about it, why not take a look for yourself.

In addition to exposing the conditions that many workers in the garment industry operate under it discusses the long term health effects of pesticide use in the growing of cotton crops and the economic effects of unchecked consumerism.
