Friends and Fancy Cheeses - Weekly Reflection #2
23:36
Ok so as is evident from my lack of last weeks reflection post, these posts won’t be as regular as every week. I realised that if I did, this blog would be overrun with reflection posts which isn’t really what I want.
But without further ado, here's this week/fortnight's reflection!
4 things that made me happy
- Reconnecting with old friends - I love all of my friends and being able to catch up with old friends and find out what people are up to whether it be a new job, plans to study abroad or new hobbies always makes me happy.
- Spending time with my good friends - There is a certain group of people who I’ve been friends with for years who I always enjoy and treasure spending time with no matter what we’re doing.
- Working on my first event as an events officer - I really enjoyed running around making sure that we had everything we needed and that everything was going smoothly and I’m really happy that I chose to volunteer.
- Fancy cheese platters with friends - Potential new weekly ritual? Perhaps.
3 things that I’m grateful for
- Being able to say goodbye to my friend - One of my friends is completing his degree in Denmark and won’t be back in Australia for at least another 6 months. Being able to say goodbye while having fun with lots of our friends is something I definitely appreciate.
- People who patiently teach me how to do things - I will be the first to admit that I am not superhuman. It means a lot to me when my friends, who have their share of amazing talents and skills, take the time to share them with me and pass on their knowledge.
- My business team - Our year long project for Global Challenges is no doubt challenging, but my team who are all passionate and work so hard, make these group assignments a pleasure.
2 things that I learned
- Australia has the highest mammal extinction rate in the world - Read my last post here if you’re interested in finding out more
- Marketing is important - Like, REALLY important. The way you market something can make or break it. This is something that I and my team found out last week when one of our attempted business ventures for the $5 challenge failed. More on that in an upcoming post!
1 thing that I need to improve on
- Time management - While I have been able to keep on top of my various commitments so far this semester, next month it looks like I’ll be working a lot more often. I’ll have to get better at managing the time I have now if I’m going to have any hope of continuing to stay on top of everything for the rest of the semester.
